The Homeschool Odyssey Series presented by Group Travel Odyssey is an exciting and educational new program catering to homeschooling families in the USA. The four-day events are dedicated to supporting educational goals for non-traditional students and their families and are held in irresistible tourism destinations.
Trinity University conducted a study on the reasons families choose to homeschool. The research indicates that parents want the following for their children: control over their education, nurturing their talents, and exposing them to educational vacations.
“Pardon me, boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo-Choo?”
The first educational vacation in the Homeschool Odyssey Series will be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee from November 7-13, 2016. Many fun and interesting events are scheduled including ice breakers with leadership time so teachers/parents can collaborate and brainstorm, special meals, and opportunities to foster lasting friendships.
The trip offers a bucket list of attractions which fulfill a wide variety of curriculum; Lookout Mountain, Incline Railway, Ruby Falls, Rock City, Point Park Battlefield, Battles for Chattanooga Electric Map & Museum, Tennessee Aquarium with IMAX, Southern Belle Lunch Cruise, and the Chattanooga Zoo. These sites are surrounded by the natural beauty of Chattanooga as well as captivating history. Your children/students will remember this live classroom for generations!
Although there are a few activities each day with specific time slots, many others can be done around your own schedule. There is plenty of flexibility so you can spend extra or less time at any venue, and the ‘Create an Odyssey’ option allows you to add or delete activities to fit individual and educational needs.
Group Travel Odyssey offers choices for comfortable and affordable accommodations through their hotel partners at an event rate. You will find the options on the Chattanoga destination page and of course, you can always explore on your own!
The cost of the Chattanooga package including events activities, and attractions is $193.00 per adult and $133.00 per student. The Create Your Own Odyssey program is $106.00 per adult and $63.00 per student. Transportation, parking, and lodging is not included but may be arranged by preferred suppliers.
One of the many benefits of homeschooling is the freedom of designing curriculum according to specific needs and circumstances. The Homeschool Odyssey Series is a wonderful opportunity to choose your own adventures, experience an educational vacation, and cultivate friendships with other homeschooling students, parents, and teachers.
Homeschool families as well as homeschool groups are welcome to attend and arrangements can be made for special meeting times and places per your planning needs. Proof of homeschooling necessary to be part of this event.
Can’t wait to see you on the Chattanooga Choo-Choo!
