It’s National Hot Buttered Rum Day!
January 17 is National Hot Buttered Rum Day. Hot buttered rum is a mixed drink containing rum, butter, hot water or cider, sweetener, and spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
It dates back to colonial America but likely originated in Europe. Hot buttered rum is most often enjoyed in the fall and winter when it’s cold and cozy. It’s literally “comfort food in a mug!”
