Let’s Celebrate Etch A Sketch Day – July 12, 2022
Etch A Sketch – that impossibly fun mechanical drawing toy – is celebrated each July 12th on Etch A Sketch Day! Etch A Sketch was introduced on this day in 1960 and sold for $2.99 (equivalent to $26 today).
Etch A Sketch was invented by André Cassagnes from France and was manufactured by the Ohio Art Company. It’s a classic that has entertained and delighted generations of kids.
Etch A Sketch Day is celebrated mainly by organizations, and everyone is encouraged to be creative and have fun. Dig out your Etch A Sketch and create a masterpiece (or a squiggle!)
