It’s National Play-Doh Day!
It doesn’t matter how old we are, we never seem to outgrow Play-Doh. There is nothing like popping open a brand new colorful can and sniffing the possibilities it holds!
But here’s a fun fact – Play-Doh was originally developed in the late 1920s as a wallpaper cleaner! Sooty coal burners often left a dark residue on wallpaper, and the white, putty-like substance would help to keep it clean.
In the 1950s coal burning furnaces became obsolete, and the sticky substance was re-imagined as a toy for children.
Today this colorful dough is a staple in practically every household with children and an endless source of creativity and fun! On this National Play-Doh Day, pop the top on a new tub and let your imagination soar!
