Listen Up! It’s National Saxophone Day
If you’re a fan of the smooth, seductive sound of a saxophone – today is your day! National Saxophone Day pays homage to the rich, warm tones of this woodwind instrument.
The saxophone was developed in 1846 by Belgian instrument designer Adolphe Sax. He wanted to create a powerful and adaptable brass woodwind instrument. While it was originally intended to be used in classical music, today the saxophone’s diverse, sultry sound is found in practically every kind of music!
