Yes- you read that correctly! Today we celebrate the unusual, rare, experimental, and sometimes downright weird instruments that add a unique flavor to the music we love.
Musicians throughout the ages have pushed the boundaries of sound by introducing new and creative tools to produce it.
Uncommon Instrument Awareness Day encourages people to learn to play some of these innovative instruments or make one of their own!
Theramins, cimbaloms, Stylophones, or even didgeridoos are all deserving of our attention on this most unusual day!
