On November 10, 2024, the EU Entry-Exit System (EES), the first phase of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), goes into effect.
All non-EU travelers will be required to apply for entry authorization. They’ll skip the passport stamp as a new biometric system uses fingerprints and digital photos for identification. This system will apply to anyone entering and exiting the Schengen Area’s airports, harbors, and land borders.
